I started this simply as a way to keep family and friends updated on my cancer treatment after a couple of them suggested I do so. On August 4, 2006, I was told I had Stage I Lymphoma in my left sinus. NK/T-Cell Lymphoma, Nasal Type, to be exact. Very rare and only about 20 cases a year in the US. Most cases occur in SE Asia. Fortunately, it’s a small tumor and was caught early, so the cure rate is very high. Unfortunately, I had to undergo both agressive chemotherapy and radiation treatments for about 5-6 months. I have received so much support that it’s been difficult keeping up with it all, so one way to keep you in the loop is by way of this blog. At this point, the worst is over and I just have to keep on top of things, and at your request, I have decided to keep this blog going even though I’m in remission with not much to report. We’ll see how long it will go. Thanks to all of you. Love, CAO

    Hi Chris,

It’s your long-lost cousin, Katherine. My mom told me about your blog last month, and I’ve been checked it several times since then. I’m really inspired by your ability to keep such high spirits as you go through chemo and RT, and, on the days you need to vent and feel crappy, to be very honest about that.

I was looking through your pictures and saw that you had been to Philly …And coincidentally, one of the pictures (the mural of the Mayor in the Italian Market) was taken just a block from my old apartment!! My boyfriend, Matt, and I have since moved to a different section of town, we go back often. I was just there today.

I see that after the holidays you and the O Men (!!) will be getting together in DC. Well, after THAT, if you’re in the mood and have the time, think about coming to Philly again. ( : It would be so good to have you for a visit and show you some (more) of the city.

I’ll continue to check in and see how you’re doing through the blog, and I’ll keep you in my thoughts adn prayers.

I’m leaving for Beautiful Texas (love, swoon!!) tomorrow, but I’ll be back after the holidays. I hope we’ll be in contact soon.

    Merry Christmas!!
